Overview

Skat Foundation is happy to announce the launch of a report and video showcasing six impact stories from our online courses on professional drilling management. From institutional adjustments to drilling practices of WaterAid globally, to enhanced well performance and improved practices, the stories provide an insight on how the online trainings impacted people and organisations involved.

The courses were first run in 2018 and 2019, offering 172 participants from 57 countries an introduction to the professional management of water well drilling. Most trainees were already involved in water supply or water resources management projects or programmes. The trainings provided an overview of what is required to improve professionalism in the organisations and countries in which they work. From the participants of the first two editions, six were interviewed to gather their testimonies, which were consolidated into a report and a short accompanying video.

Current and future course editions

Skat Foundation and partners have been running the training again in 2022, and are currently identifying potential supporters for additional editions in 2023, in French and English. If you are interested in supporting these courses, please contact us at info@skat-foundation.ch.

Upcoming webinars

We will run two webinars to reflect on the experiences, effectiveness and challenges of online learning for groundwater. We will hear directly from the course developers, participants and facilitators, as well as from the audience.  Each webinar will focus on one of the courses: (i) groundwater resources management and (ii) professional drilling management.
