Miriam has been a consultant for Skat Foundation since 2020 and served as the Focal Point for LA of the Sufosec Alliance Localization Learning Group in 2022. Now, Miriam serves as the Co-Lead of the Advisory Network on HRBA and LNOB of the Sufosec Alliance.
As Co-Lead of the Advisory Network on HRBA and LNOB, Miriam helps to ensure that all partners in the Global South have access to a team of experts who can respond to their questions, queries, and requests on these two important topics. HRBA and LNOB are principles that must be understood and applied across the projects and programs of more than 250 partner organizations.
Miriam Orellana has a background in law with a master’s degree in human development; with more than 25 years of experience; specialized in civil society, rural development, citizen participation, women and gender issues, peace building, governance, local development, localization and human rights. She has worked in South and Central America and the Caribbean. Expert in program design, strategic planning, assessments, monitoring, and evaluation. Specialized in Emergencies and Risk Disaster Management. Native Spanish, fluent English, French and Portuguese intermediate. She also has experience in assessment and management of networks and learning communities.
She is passionate about supporting others, loves traveling, meeting people and discover places, is a team player that loves nature and adventures, cooking, and sewing.
