60 families are participating in the Terraza Verde project – “Caring for our Common Home: Sustainable urban agriculture and composting in Usme, Bogotá, Colombia”

Together with our local partner, Parroquia San Marcelino Champagnat, and with the support of the Catholic Church of Sankt Gallen, we have been carrying out the Terraza Verde project on sustainable agriculture and composting in Usme, Bogotá, Colombia. The project has been progressing very well and now includes three new parishes:

  • Jesucristo Nuestra Pascua
  • Jesucristo Puerta de la Fe
  • Santa María de la Esperanza

A total of 60 families (240 people) participate in the project. They have been receiving training and support on organic farming, composting, seedbeds, vertical gardens, and other topics related to solid waste management.

We are excited to see how the Terraza Verde project will continue to evolve. If you wish to learn more about this project, contact Sandra Mendez at sandra.mendez@skat-foundation.ch.
