Sandra is our Associated Specialist in Solid Waste Management, bringing expertise on a systems approach to sustainable waste management. She works as a Senior Consultant at Ecopartner Ltd.
Sandra has over 20 years of professional experience as a professor, researcher, project manager and consultant in solid waste and resource management. Her core strengths lie in systemic project and policy design, as well as community and stakeholder empowerment in the adoption of sustainable waste management solutions.
She has on-the-ground experience across multiple countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. Her systems thinking approach enables the design of solutions that foster the sustainable management of resources, therefore reducing the environmental risks associated with inadequate and/or conventional solid waste management.
Sandra is a Civil Engineer with an MSc in Civil Engineering and a PhD in Engineering. Her doctoral thesis focused on providing methodological guidance for the systemic design of the National Policy for the Integrated Management of e-waste in Colombia.
