Kerstin is our Associated Specialist in Water Supply. She is the director of Ask for Water Ltd. and supports Skat Foundation and RWSN through a range of activities, including technical assistance, in-country studies, webinars and professional trainings.
With over 25 years of experience, Kerstin specialises in water supplies, and has focused on sustainable groundwater development, including drilling, the O&M of rural water services, technology uptake and monitoring the performance of national water sectors. She is skilled at integrating the institutional, socio-economic, cultural and technical aspects of water supplies, and works as a researcher and facilitator.
Under the umbrella of RWSN, she leads the action group “Stop the Rot”, which aims to improve handpump quality, reduce rapid handpump corrosion and raise the technical quality of borehole installations. She is also supporting the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists.
Kerstin holds a PhD in Technology Transfer for Development, an MSc in Infrastructure Engineering, and a BEngDiplEng in Mechanical Engineering with First Class Honours.
